This website was destroyed in a harddrive crash. Some files will eventually be restored, but I request that anyone who ever downloaded files from here contact me: jemym@home.se in case you are able to send me some of the files back.

The mod itself was safe in another place, its just the website that is gone (and unfortunate all my plans for it, but thats recoverable).

2005-04-15 Whats happened?

If you still visit this website you may know that there havnt been much going on here for a long time.

The greatest mistake I did was to not secure a good development team from day one, but instead trying to build the mod on my own. Even if I was able to craft the majority of the game like I wanted it, I started to run into more and more walls where I couldnt work around the rather limited engine but where forced to give up my plans.

I am a designer. I wanted the mod to be visually appealing, but I lacked the programmer skills.
I wanted the EotB2 mod to be as close to the original as possible, which might have been a bit too much to ask myself for.

Anyway, the plans are to start fresh new with Neverwinter Nights 2 once it comes.
I have always preferred the 3.5 ruleset and it just feels bad putting down so much work in an engine that is clearly limited for my vision. The next time I will be sure to secure modellers and programmers from the start.
Below you can see some selected visuals from the mod.

Khelben from the Introduction:

The temple entrance, once you get past the Forest:

I never placed items simply on the ground, instead I always tried to place them inside something and create something visually appealing that made 'sense'. This is a hidden room in the map called "Cursed Caverns". You may know it as Catacombs Level 3. This is the no rest area. I did my best in making this place very chilly:

The Thri-Kreen breeding Chamber from "Test of Faith" AKA Silver Tower Level 1:

This is the Mark of Darkmoon, in the level "Mark of Darkmoon", also known as Silver Tower Level 3:

STILL LOOKING FOR A PROGRAMMER

Well, things have started to move again. Without a job, there's more time to keep up the work.
Elghinn have started to produce a new website. It looks very good. I hope we can get it up running as soon as possible.
I have started to rebuild the 'stuff to do' files, catching up my bad memory about where we are in the production. Im very happy that the mod itself wasnt deleted in the HD crash.

Also we finally got a decent Thri-Kreen and some lovely flying fangs... So now its just Gas Spore and Greater Guardian that is missing from the monsters. I guess we can live without them.

I have started to update my old Character Portraits. The new ones looks alot better, still handpainted with my WACOM INTOUS 2 12x12 board :)

2004-03-01 When you least expected it, life turns bad

You might wonder how's it going, is the project dead? Whats going on?

First of all: no. I have not decided to kill off the project. In fact Elghinn just completed the final tileset we are going to use and it looks really great. We have two programmers that have declared their support, and they are prepared to work as soon as I recovered.

Recovered yes. You see, in the beginning of 2004 my father went into hospital. The very same day the company I was working for went bankrupt. That weekend Windows was swallowed by a virus infection, which had infected all three of my computers, and killed two of them (windows got corrupted that is). During reinstallation of my own machine, the windows installation whiped my project partition. Why? Becouse of driver issues with my second HD interface. On this project partition was all my personal work (I am a graphican/artist) with no backup. A recovery program sucessfully restored the other partitions of that drive, but all files on the project partition was permanently destroyed. This also included a major book collection, all plans for the EotB2 project, all other custom stuff Ive ever made, and all my websites (several more than EOTB2).

Then my father died tuesday February 03 2004, at the age of 53. It ended his 13 years of alcohol abuse, that costed him his family, his wife, his job, his large house, his cars and even the most important woman he lived with after mom left him.

When I write this things have turned out well for me. A new job is on its way and I am happy to finally be off the old one (If you leave a job in sweden you dont get payed by the goverment for 3 months! So its much better to get fired!). Me and my "semi-wife" take over my fathers appartment that is larger and in a better neighbourhood, owned my my grandma, with a garden and everything. I have recovered lots of my work from various CD's at home (except for the website thou). My father is buried as well, which finally puts an end to much of my tragic past. Im not angry on him, but I hate the meaningless way he died.
